King Jong Kill

So here's the crazy thing. I just posted about 2011 as the "Year of the King Kill" a few hours ago. In the short time since, someone sent Melissa a video of Ron Paul on Jay Leno and we watched it together. Even though Leno is as unfunny as can be, we watched it for old times sake (we met at a Ron Paul event 3 years ago). After Ron Paul speaks for a bit, Joe Rogan comes out and sits next to him. Then, Joe Rogan repeatedly utters the phrase "Jack and Jill" (starting at 11m47s into this video) and I look over at her knowingly.

Those who have been following this blog know that the phrase "Jack and Jill" has been very important this year, as it has come to signal the death of a King (for a number of reasons, such as the whole "Jack fell down and broke his crown" and Jared Lee "Loner" being JLL).

So, I guess at that moment I knew what was coming, but I didn't think it would be that fast. If you haven't heard already, the news just broke:

Hmm, Osama, Gadafi, Kim Jong Il ... we 3 kings?
...

UPDATE:
Drudge goes with a Wizard of Oz reference, which is particularly interesting considering the seeming non sequitur connecting the KingKill to the Wizard of Oz in the previous post.

  1. Gif-Ford's Theater (the play's the thing . . .)

In 8 1/2 the Director/Demiurge builds a Tower (Pyramid) to reach the heavens; then he shoots himself in the head and ends the movie, dismantling the whole structure. Major Tom had to come back to earth. ASA NISI MASA = A NI MA. (But note--now his own Child-Self leads the circus procession.)

  3. Yea, and notice the Ryugyeong Hotel is 105 stories, or 501, 51 - 3x17.
Man, that is crazy. Also, and this is a reach, but the MoG was talking about the unfinished pyramid and I recall how C3PO was left unfinished by Anakin, no cladding to cover his parts (some kind of Masonic apron joke maybe?). The Ryugyeong Hotel finally got some cladding this year, which is of course, reflective glass.

  4. I've seen 8 1/2 a few times, I ain't a total philistine. Of course, I got much more out of it this time. The commentary track goes into Fellini's Jungian influence, but perhaps not enough.

And yes, the Father's mechanical man is unfinished--another Hugo/Edward Scissorhands sync.

  5. On 3/17, the 23rd season of Survivor, the 17th person voted off was named Ozzy, but the paper that sealed his fate just said "OZ".
