The Birds and The Bees Pt5: Treasure Hunt Comes Full Circle

In Part4 we counted all they ways in which Alan Moore ripped off Kurt Vonnegut by comparing Watchmen with Sirens of Titan. We offered the idea that it plays into such a larger narrative of death and rebirth being told by the collective unconscious. We looked at this in the context of the honey and bee memes we've been watching, along with the 44, the double-M, and the B&M combo. Then Elton John and signs everywhere tell us that Jesus wants to go to Venus, perhaps on one of the balloons from a box of Lucky Charms. This all seems tied to StarGates and hallucinogenic ego-death as well as secret society fertility rituals. Confused yet? Well, don't forget that BatMan and time travel fit in there too. Writing this series has been a bit of a roller-coaster; it's been difficult to get all this down fast enough as the syncs just keep piling up.

Speaking of roller-coasters, they just opened the new Luna Park at Coney Island today with rides such as the "Balloon Expedition," after a protracted legal battle with Thor Equities. And some people think mythology is a dead language. Ha.

Another thing we noticed alongside the blue man were the pillars of Jachin and Boaz. Now I see there is a movie coming out called MegaMind about a blue-skinned villain and his arch nemesis MetroMan. We can't get away from these double-Ms. Well, wouldn't you know it, the trailer features a few shots of the double pillar, even with a floating sphere like that at the center of Jake Kotze's 9/11 stargate thesis.
The trailer even gives us our 44 on this guy's t-shirt (who looks all-too much like the newspaper kid from Watchmen, even down to the pin on his vest):
And both MegaMind and MetroMan wear a single M on their outfits, reminding us of the 2012 olympic mascots and Mario/Wario pairing we looked at in Part3, as if the dueling natures need each other to complete the double-M.
These guys must really like Alan Moore because the release date is November 5th, the date that we were told to "Remember, Remember" in his V for Vendetta:
Didn't realize the movie was released on 3/17 - there goes Osiris again

Considering both MegaMind and MetroMan are aliens and ABC/Disney is pushing the reptile alien threat again with their relaunch of "V" - we may have an interesting November this year.
The new V series launched on 11/3 or 33. Is that a clue of a Masonic conspiracy or will the Masons be targeted in manufactured witch-hunts searching for Ickian Reptilians? There sure are a lot of video games teaching kids to shoot at aliens. Are signs really pointing to a Blue Beam event? Man, I don't know. But, that's a theme that was central to both Sirens of Titan and Watchmen.

Both Sirens and Watchmen had their all-powerful ego-death-resurrected man-gods go to Mars before the Blue Beam event. I wonder if the Mars vacation is not symbolic of the "wrathful visions" discussed in the Tibetan Book of the Dead or man facing his darker nature within ego-death. Chris Knowles put a link up to this story where someone finally noticed that there's a hallucinogen in Botticelli's painting of Venus and Mars.

Though I don't agree with all his conclusions (can't say I fully agree with anyone, really) I really enjoy listening to FreeMan's radio show. He often talks about the Martian moon of Phobos, which is also crucial to the Sirens of Titan plot. He also does a good job of pointing out that Venus is also Lucifer, and lays out a convincing argument that Lucifer and Jesus may be one and the same. So, at first I entertained the idea that all the "Jesus wants to go to Venus" signs may be synchronistic confirmation of that. But, some people get freaked out by the mention of Lucifer so let's look deeper - at the bigger meaning behind these archetypes...

V for Venus

It's no secret that the great mother goddess in all her forms is intimately connected with Jachin and Boaz. Here we have her as Venus:
No surprise that Our Lady of the Sea, standing upon the shell of Queen B's Shell oil company while we are in the midst of a major oil-spill, should make herself known at this time:
I have come to see the three Masonic pillars as symbolic of a man's legs and his phallus, the masculine counterpart to the life-giving recipe:
While the feminine has only two legs and a stargate between them, the cosmic birth canal:
To further the idea that we are looking at ego-death and specifically death/rebirth themes, a blue-skinned Venus does the dance with a skeleton in this tattoo artwork:
I censored out the naughty bits so I didn't have to turn on that blogger "content warning"

Ego-death and rebirth?
This from Terence McKenna's Food of the Gods:
He writes: "A remarkable illustration in Erich Neumann's The Great Mother shows the Goddess in association with a beehive and holding poppy seed capsules and heads of grain in her left hand while resting her right hand on one f the unadorned pillars central to the Minoan earth religion. Rarely have so many elements of the Archaic technology of ecstasy been brought together so explicitly. The figure is almost an allegory of the transformation of Minoan shamanic spirituality in its late phase. Its mushroom roots are symbolized in the aniconic column; they are the touchstone of the Goddess who looks toward the promise of the poppies and ergotized grain. The hive of bees introduces the theme of honey, the archetypical image of ecstasy, female sexuality, and preservation that survives the shifting botanical identities of the sacraments."

All our elements are beginning to converge. In Sirens of Titan, which had a character named Boaz, there is an explanation of why a mother and son, named Bee and Chrono, are so close: "Their livers had been modified by a three-month diet consisting of water and the roots of the salpa-salpa or Amazonian blue poplar. The diet had been a part of Bee's and Chrono's initiation into the Gumbo tribe. During the initiation, mother and son had been staked at the ends of tethers in the middle of the village, with Chrono representing the Sun and Bee representing the Moon, as the Sun and Moon were understood by the Gumbo people. As a result of their experiences, Bee and Chrono were closer than most mothers and sons. They had been rescued at last by a helicopter."

Moon goddesses, helicopters, twin pillars. It's all too much.
Did the events of 9/11 unveil Isis? Well, if we are looking at the mother goddess as symbolic of rebirth, then yes. 9/11 certainly changed our vibration. The question: For better or worse?

Mask of the Phantasm

One of my favorite cheesy movies is the old horror flick Phantasm, which has the tagline, "Where The Dead Are No Longer That Way." And it also features a StarGate (or "SpaceGate" as they call it) that leads them to Mars of all places. This gateway is designed like a tuning fork and is closed when the vibration stops.

I'd like to believe a gateway to Mars (the god of war) was closed on that day, but events haven't really played out that way. That doesn't mean I'm not rooting for the possibility.

While searching Phantasm images, I came across this picture from someone's DeviantArt page that mixes Phantasm with SailorMoon (another moon goddess). Very appropriate.

The silver spheres that are perhaps the most often remembered thing about the Phantasm series, also remind me of Mercury. You may recall I cut my small finger, known as the Mercury finger, the night before watching the Seth Green Radio8Ball video - one of the things that started this series.

Don Coscarelli, the guy who gave us Phantasm, also did the Saturday-afternoon classic, BeastMaster - another B&M combo - which resonates very well with the Chimera and Sphinx we looked at in Part 4. Though I never saw it, the crappy-looking sequel is called BeastMaster 2: Through The Portal of Time.

The female love-interest in BeastMaster is named Kiri. In Japanese, Kiri can mean "fog" or "Mist" and also is the word for "pyramid." Not only is "Pyramid" a big word in these parts of the interwebs (especially when connected to StarGates), but this also leads us back to the "MIST" seen on the Lucky Charms box in Part 4, and it even goes back to our trip trough time as pointed out in this Kotze pic:
The star of BeastMaster is Marc Singer, who was in the original V series, played doubly dog-star-resonant Caleb Cole (CC is 33, plus Caleb means dog in hebrew and a Celeb is a star [thank Chris Knowles for that connection]) in an episode of Highlander called Mountain Men, and he also voiced the freakin' Man-Bat in the BatMan animated series. Again with the connection to the opposite nature in another B&M combo. The episodes the Man-Bat was in? Terror in the Sky and Tyger Tyger!

Before we go off on BatMan again, let's realize that Marc Singer was in a boys-in-blue movie with Michael Madsen and the recently passed-over Dennis Hopper. The movie's tagline tells us that we're about to cross-over a line ourselves, into some new territory.
On IMDB, the site that tells you "I am DB," we see some familiar numbers.
17% and an anagram of Osiris' 317

But what of Dennis Hopper's career?
At #44 we have another "Blue" hand-in-hand with a CC/33. And he played two different characters, both with the last name "Swan" for another bird hit. And what are we to make of numbers 45 and 46? Come on! See, I told you Jesus wants to go to Venus in Part 1.

Since Michael Madsen is yet another double-M, I checked him out too. Wouldn't you know it? He's in a 2010 movie, called The Portal, which judging from the trailer, is another horror movie with an inter-dimensional twist. It looks terrible, but check out the red-eyed 2010 white-tiger logo used by the guys who made this heap:

Since we've come back to inter-dimensional horror movies again, this shot from Phantasm 4 gives us a flashback to the Tesla-like roots of the SpaceGate:
Along with this image of another Hanged Man, like those that were all over Part 4.
We had connected the HangedMan to BatMan before, but there is another connection. The first animated Batman movie was the death's head wearing Mask of the Phantasm, which also had the Joker in it.
After the film, this character was adapted into DC comics, joining, of course, The Titans!! Aside from our Kurt Vonnegut sync hit, let's look at what the comic book version of Phantasm has to say for himself:
Hey, is this guy talking about ego-death? Sure sounds that way.

And "Light of 1000 souls" could be another reference to Venus, the light bearer, being the cause or effect of ego-death, as seen with Watchmen.
"The LIGHT is taking me to pieces"

With BatMan and Kotze's 9/11 stargate in mind, watch a minute and a half video I threw together to visually demonstrate another connection:

DB's Treasure

This series started because of a major sync (or series of syncs) I had with a video posted over on the SyncWhole:

In the video and the subsequent SyncWhole post, they're all talking about dead bees and all the things I had been writing about. This comes just as I'm in the middle of all these wild Osiris-resonating syncs, and I'm looking at the interwoven context of cereal grain and hallucinogens and honey bees. Now, I can't think of cereal without milk (which comes from cows) so let's refer to Terence McKenna again:
"The belief widely held in the classical world that bees were generated from the carcasses of cattle makes more sense if seen as an effort to connect bees as a source of honey and mead, the supplanting intoxicant, with cattle and the older mushroom cult. It may be that mead cults and mushroom cults that used honey as a preservative developed in close association with each other."
The bee-faced mushroom shaman of Tassili-n-Ajjer, drawing by Kat Harrison-McKenna

So, I'm looking at mysteries in cereal, most notably that General Mills put swirls and spirals on all their cereal boxes right after the Norway Spiral, as discussed in the Circumpunct Breakfast post. I, along with the green man from Lucky Charms, began our own treasure hunts, trying to decode all these clues.
Directly after uploading that BatMan video a few hours ago, the Duran Duran song "The Reflex" popped into my head.
The reflex is in charge of finding treasure in the dark
And watching over lucky clover isn't that bizarre
Every little thing the reflex does
Leaves you answered with a question mark

So it hit me powerfully when, in the Radio8Ball video, I saw another green man, Seth Green, talking about how he was looking to find DB's treasure.

And treasure hunts seem to be somehow key in this. With the recent financial chaos in Greece, this part of the story leapt out at me: "It's been proposed that the people of Greece sell parts of their territory and cultural treasures to pay back the banks." One only needs to take a cursory glance at the history of plundering and searching for occult treasures during WW2, mix that with all the incredible historical treasures that are being dug up lately in Egypt and elsewhere, and add the fact that when Iraq was invaded the first thing they did was ransack the museums, to see there is a real-life treasure hunt afoot.

I saw this story linked on RedIce about Resonance Mandalas being unearthed. Fantastic glowing blue spiral shapes.
Certainly makes me think of the Norway Spiral:

Perhaps this plays into an awakening. Perhaps all these things from our past will be unearthed, secrets will be revealed. Perhaps, even if it is oppressive forces that are doing the digging, we'll still see a benefit. Something along the lines of Kotze's 9/11 theory. That'd be wonderful. But, I believe it's still up to us to look for treasure in our hearts and minds and souls in order for that to happen.

Look at that Lucky Charms box again. In the last two months on this blog we've found the balloon, we've found the moon, we've found the wormhole horseshoe... The final missing piece is our heart. And that's the most important one.

The Green Man is Me

Now obviously, if a bunch of people are all experiencing similar syncs, there is something bigger at play. Like a fractal, my experience is only part of something larger. That's why I will continue to post away and examine the meta-themes right along with you. But, as I always tell people, any real change starts within yourself. So here, at the end of this series, I need to focus inward.

Realizing that this comes down to the heart, I think I've completed my treasure hunt. It has occurred to me only recently that there is a reason I have been resonating with Osiris. A long time ago, before I knew anything about Osiris, Melissa and I had spoken about getting married and both of us changing our name to something we like. We instantly knew what it was. We would take on the last name Green.

Now, as the time approaches, I am suffering from ego-loss. I am the infundibulated man. Alan Abbadessa is dying to be reborn as Alan Green. I never thought I had such a connection to my old name, but I think that's what my subconscious is telling me. There is a reason I am synching with all of these symbols. Perhaps the castration of Osiris is symbolic of being taken off the market so to speak. But, I know that what Osiris loses he regains from his love. Isis gives him a new phallus that is for her alone to use.

And what of the dying bee?
Well, I have considered that it is my mom, since her name means "Honey Bee" and she was diagnosed with cancer not too long ago. That would explain the mother goddess theme. Plus, her initials were DB and her name Debbie even sounds like DB. ...But, I have felt very strongly from the get-go that she will be fine. I just feel it in my heart that she'll be okay. So, I sort of dismiss that, as strongly as it would make sense.
Then I thought, it could be my grandmother, whose initials are MB. That would explain it. She is what holds my family together, the core of my little clan. Perhaps she is the Queen Bee. The family matriarch. ...But, even at her age, she is healthier than I am. She could easily kick my ass, and probably would if she knew I was talking publicly about her. So, no, I dismiss that.
Then, after making the connection to my own ego-death with the change of my name and passing through the stargate of marriage, I realized that Melissa, whose name also means "Honey Bee" would be experiencing the same thing that I was. She was the dying bee. And, she would be reborn just as I would.

I see so many marriages fail for one reason or another and I have to wonder if it's because they aren't passing through the stargate together. Either the woman keeps her name or changes it. She either changes for them both or neither one changes at all. I think this leads to unbalanced expectations and disappointments.

So last night we spoke of all this. And the idea of passing through that stargate seemed less frightening. Whatever comes, whatever is on the other side, we will hold hands and go through it together.

Subway to the Underworld

The exhibit is on 44th street and the sponsors give us another 44 with the peacock/phoenix bearing channel 4 and the AA of the 9/11-connected American Airlines (AA=11 giving us 4 11 or 44)

Last night I was on the subway and I got this shot of an ad for the big King Tut exhibit (sorry the pic is cut off, it was a crowded train). Been seeing a lot of this stuff lately. There was an unaffiliated exhibit in Brooklyn last month called "To Live Forever: Art and the Afterlife in Ancient Egypt." That was at the Brooklyn Museum (another B&M) and their logo is simply a giant B inside spiraling shapes.
My fellow design geeks, click here to see a larger shot of their style guide if you're into that sort of thing.
Maybe they can use this spiral next:

When I was getting off the train I saw someone leaving their newspaper on their seat and I grabbed it because the front page read "Mickey Mouse Plot" and I was drawn to the double-M that we've been seeing so much of lately, often in tandem with the Bee or letter B.
Bees (that resonate with the Egyptian scarab or beetle) sing "Letter B"
in the Sesame Street Classic.
I wonder what King Tut's favorite letter was?
I mean, was he more of a B or an M kinda guy?
From a new Sesame Street ode to "The Letter B" comes this:
"I'm a (M)onarch who loves "B" words, so they call me B.B. King"

That newspaper (Daily News - May 27, 2010) did not fail to give up the expected bounty.
There's a giant two-page spread photo by another B&M, Mark Bonifacio, with the caption "The warship Iwo Jima bristles with hundreds of sailors lining the deck in their dress whites and a swarm of helicopters as she sails up the Hudson to mark the beginning of Fleet Week in the city. The Wasp-class amphibious assault ship eases past Ground Zero on her way to Pier 88, where she will dock."
So we've got 9/11 and helicopters, the subjects of one of Jake Kotze's studies related to the 9/11 stargate. Plus, we connect them to our bee research with the word "swarm" and the ship itself being of a "Wasp-class" along with the ever-present 88, which even gets back to the Japanese connection that started it all, with Iwo Jima.

Now, bear in mind, this is coming from the Daily News, the same source that gave us the Spelling Bee champ #33 that we looked at in February. Want to see their coverage of the BP oil-spill? Sure you do:
The caption reads, "At left, a researcher examines oil slick floating on surface of Gulf of Mexico near Louisiana coast yesterday."

That reminds me, I found this image online the other day while searching the phrases "Masons" and "Bees" (which I just realized is another B&M combo). I like how they put the "G" gate in the middle of the 11.

For the record, I've never asked. I'm just not interested in being initiated into any group, but I'm also not one of those people who think membership is inherently "evil" or whatever.

Anyway, I just wanted to throw this out there as a sort of sync-log. I'm working on Part 5 of "The Birds and The Bees" and I should have it done soon.

Till then, remember to keep your eyes open underground:

The Birds and The Bees Pt4: The Infundibulated Man

In Watchmen, Jon Osterman dies to be reborn as Dr. Manhattan

As mentioned in Part 2 of this series, within a few pages of re-reading Kurt Vonnegut's book The Sirens of Titan, it became obvious that this work contained much of the source material for Alan Moore's Watchmen. Alan Moore is no stranger to the intentional use of symbolism and occultism, but that's not what I'm interested in looking at today. I want to see where his story overlaps with Vonnegut's and what that overlap means for our study of Ego-Death and the Death/Rebirth theme.

Sirens Page 13:
"Winston Niles Rumfoord had run his private space ship right into the heart of an uncharted chrono-synclastic infundibulum two days out of Mars. Only his dog had been along. Now Winston Niles Rumfoord and his dog Kazak existed as wave phenomena - apparently pulsing in a distorted spiral with its origin in the Sun and its terminal in Betelgeuse."

The Norway Spiral: A Chrono-Synclastic Infundibulum?

Now, we could go off on the loaded symbolism of connecting a star in the Orion constellation with the sun - Orion contains the three stars that align with the great pyramids (the pyramids are mentioned in passing on Pg18 of Sirens); the Orion constellation is seen by some cultures as the gateway to the underworld or the home of the gods. Mythologically, Orion is connected with the Pomegranate (a symbol of death/underworld that was also seen in the Dali painting from Part One); is connected to Poseidon, the Dawn Goddess and the Moon deities; and on and on. I don't want to get off track so let's do a quick rundown: Orion is the hunter, depicted with dogs at his side (like Winston Niles Rumfoord), holds a lion (which will be important later), and was slain by either Scorpio or an arrow (depending on your preferred myth).

We can turn that arrow around since there are many myths involving "shooting arrows at the sun" such as this Pueblo tale: "The man transforms the Boy into an arrow and launches him to the Sun. Arriving in the Sun, his identity as the Lord's son is tested by passing through four ritual huts: the Kiva of Lions, the Kiva of Serpents, the Kiva of Bees, and the Kiva of Lightning."

Or what of the Chinese myth that solar eclipses were caused by the "dog of heaven" biting off a piece of the sun.

And we can't talk about Sun Dogs without thinking of Sirius, the Dog Star. Especially since Dr. Manhattan wears the circumpunct over his third-eye.

But for now let's focus on these tales of men getting scattered about the universe. Vonnegut's character gets "infundibulated," in a book written in 1959, he then re-materializes on Earth for one hour every 59 days. In Watchmen it's a scientific experiment gone awry that removes the intrinsic field from Jonathan Osterman in the year 1959. Jon tells his story in a chapter called "Watchmaker" and holds a watch while being pulled apart. Let's go back to Sirens of Titan for an explanation of what a chrono-synclastic infundibulum is anyway:

Sirens Pg14-15:
"These places are where all the different kinds of truths fit together as nicely as the parts in your Daddy's solar watch. We call these places chrono-synclastic infundibula....The poor man and his poor dog are scattered far and wide, not just through space, but through time, too. Chrono (kroh-no) means time. Synclastic (sin-class-tick) means curved toward the same side in all directions, like the skin of an orange. Infundibulum (in-fun-dib-u-lim) is what the ancient Romans like Julius Caesar and Nero called a funnel."

In Sirens, Winston gains all sorts of knowledge and power, seeing time and space as an open book. He upsets his wife by telling her events that will happen in the future. In Watchmen, Jon gains all sorts of knowledge and power, seeing time and space as an open book. He upsets his girlfriends by telling them events that will happen in the future.

Winston builds a city on Mars and concocts a Blue-Beam-type fake alien invasion to unite the planet. Jon builds a city on Mars while distracted from a concocted Blue-Beam-type fake alien invasion to unite the planet. And so on and so on.

Winston's wife is named Beatrice, who later goes by the name Bee. Jon's girlfriend is Laurie Jupiter, who wears a black and yellow outfit, like Uma Thurman's Killer Bee suit.

One of the biggest differences is that Winston has no control over his manifestations. He appears on Earth every 59 days and on Mars every 111 days. The 111 and 11:11 appear over and over and over in Vonnegut's work. I know these numbers are very loaded to some people. November 11th (11/11) is his birthday. New Year's Eve is mine. My initials, AJA, convert to 111 in numerology. Make of that what you will.
I had a woman from Spain write me asking what I thought of 11:11. This is what I wrote back to her: "As to 11:11 - it depends on who you ask. When it comes to Numerology, I think the person's perception plays a big part of it. So far, I've found that all things exist in extreme positive and negative mirrors. When I started looking at the number 88 as a negative sign, many positive forms of it started popping up everywhere, as if to assure me there was balance. When I started looking at the symbolism of Bees and Honey - I started seeing the symbols everywhere - both positive and negative. That's my short answer...But, I'd also look at Jake Kotze's study of K2. K is the 11th letter of the alphabet so 11:11 is K2. Watch the video 'The 911 pyramid mega-ritual' and two videos on 'Why K2?'"

Running with the K=11, for a moment, let's realize that in Sirens, Rumfoord's dog is named Kazak. K(11)A(1)Z(8)A(1)K(11) or 111-infinity-111.

The second time Jon "dies" he does so with an animal companion, like his predecessor, Winston

Check out this section of Vonnegut's Timequake, on page 177 (wink), in which he pretends to be in 2010, though he wrote the book in 1996: "The date yesterday was November 11th, 2010. I have just turned eighty-eight, or ninety-eight, if you want to count the rerun. My wife, Monica Pepper Vonnegut, says eighty-eight is a very lucky number, and so is ninety-eight. She is heavily into numerology." Another funny thing is that I have had a feeling that there was a temporal disturbance, or timequake, in 1998 for quite a while. As discussed in the March Madness post, apparently I am not alone in feeling that way. I even wrote a story years ago in which guys time travel from 2010 to 1998 and change history.

In Sirens and Watchmen, neither Winston nor Jon can time-travel per se. However, they can both see the future up until a fuzzy part. Winston is affected by Sunspots, Jon by Tachyons. Those may just be plot devices. Or, if you look into guys like this, who are studying hyper-symmetry along with solar activity, maybe not. Who knows?

Anyway, as mentioned, the biggest difference is that Winston has no control over his manifestations, in addition to Earth and Mars, he appears on Mercury every 14 days and also finds himself on the moon of Saturn called Titan - the very same Titan that Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke are all up on in the movie Gattaca, as discussed in Part One. The book goes on to explain that, "Whenever a heavenly body intercepted their spirals, Rumfoord and his dog materialized on that body. For reasons as yet mysterious, the spirals of Rumfoord, Kazak, and Titan coincided exactly. So Rumfoord and his dog were permenently materialized on Titan."

We can take this back to Osiris, who was himself scattered and put back together by the Moon goddess. Note also that there is a repeated reference in Sirens to "Moon Mist" cigarettes. If we look at that Lucky Charms box again we see a green man being scattered, bestowed with a moon phallus, and the four charms on the absolute lower right spelling out MIST. The text reads "Where will Lucky teleport next? Go to LuckyCharms.com to play a "mist-erious" new game. Enter this secret code for an added bonus: MIST."

For all the similarities between the Sirens and Watchmen, here Alan Moore changes things up with an interesting twist. After being scattered, Jon has to figure out how to piece himself back together:

This seems to completely coincide with the reentry period after Ego-Death, as described by Richard Alpert and others. Here's a young Richard talking about his own Ego-Death experience. Sounds like he's encountered an infundibulum or had his intrinsic field removed.
Note: This clip was also used in Zeitgeist, by the guys pushing the creepy Venus Project.
Richard Alpert, a resurrected man, taking us back to Venus again.

Richard Alpert, along with Timothy Leary and Ralph Metzner, wrote the book The Psychedelic Experience: A Manual Based On The Tibetan Book Of The Dead. In it, they explain how one pieces themselves back together at the end of their psychedelic session:
"Choosing the post-session ego is an extremely profound art and should not be undertaken carelessly or hastily...Use your foresight to choose a good post-session robot. Do not be attracted to your old ego."
"Normally the person descends, step by step, into lower (more constricted) states of consciousness."
"On the other hand, the voyager may also feel that he possesses super-normal powers of perception and movement, that he can perform miracles, extraordinary feats of bodily control etc. The Tibetan book definitely attributes paranormal faculties to the consciousness of the Bardo voyager and explains it as due to the fact that the Bardo-consciousness encompasses future elements as well as past. Hence clairvoyance, telepathy, ESP, etc. are said to be possible. Objective evidence does not indicate whether this sense of increased perceptiveness is real or illusory. We therefore leave this as an open question, to be decided by empirical evidence."

Remember, psychonaut Timothy Leary was Uma Thurman's mother's first husband! And they were introduced by Salvator Dali!

While some may find Tim Leary a bit controversial, I do believe he was trying to combine his newfound spirituality with his academic background. But, if Leary is not your cup of tea, fear not - as LSD shook academia, there were plenty of others trying to struggle with the implications of their research. Here is a fantastic documentary that is centered around a Canadian research trio and their work with schizophrenics.

I particularly like the metaphor, used within the film, of LSD being the equivalent of the Atom Bomb.

Mainstream science is beginning to catch up a little, with discoveries such as the recent "Dopamine System in Highly Creative People Similar to that Seen in Schizophrenics."
"Fewer D2 [42] receptors in the thalamus probably means a lower degree of signal filtering, and thus a higher flow of information from the thalamus," says Dr Ullén, and explains that this could a possible mechanism behind the ability of healthy highly creative people to see numerous uncommon connections in a problem-solving situation and the bizarre associations found in the mentally ill." Thinking outside the box might be facilitated by having a somewhat less intact box," says Dr Ullén about his new findings."

Quick caveat: I am familiar with MK-Ultra lore and understand the loaded nature of speaking about Ego-Death leading to anything seen as connected to multiple personalities or "alters." My current view is that MK works are done by those who understand the power of ego-death and misguide people through the process. In my book, Look At All The Happy Creatures, I wrote a chapter called "Leaving Kansas" in which a doctor performs a bit of MK mental-surgery through this exact method. The next day, Michael from Gosporn blogged about the possibility that Steve Jobs and the elusive "they" might want to feed the world LSD in a massive ego-death experience. It was that post that drove me to contact him and ask him for an interview (which you can and should listen to here). I believe ego-death to be full of wonderful potential, but I also have no doubt that it can misused. End caveat.

There is much talk lately of transcending duality, something Steve Wilner does a good job of talking up in the third, and in my opinion best so far, edition of Cracks in the Wall. Mike Clelland also just did an interview with Gibbs Williams, a psychologist who takes an academic look at meaningful coincidence and believes the phenomenon of synchronicity is the mind opening itself up from the world of black-and-white duality, to a world of colors - a world of added points of view and perceptions.
If you've seen Dr. Parnassus, you watched Heath Ledger in a movie which was all about transcending duality. Heath Ledger also played the card-bearing Joker in (the overtly Fascist, but rich in symbolic undertones) The Dark Knight - even calling out to every Mason's favorite blazing star:
The Dark Night of the Soul: Why so Sirius?

In Parnassus, Ledger is literally The Hanged Man. He is hanged a few times in the film (though by his neck, not his feet) and carries the The Hanged Man Tarot card in his pocket. In The Dark Knight, Heath Ledger's Joker ends up hung upside down at the end of the movie, exactly like the Tarot's Hanged Man.
In The Dark Knight, Heath Ledger, as the Joker, plays alongside the very representation of duality, Two-Face. If we go back a few years, Grant Morrison and MirrorMask artist Dave McKean, took us to Arkham Asylum in another project resonating with the binary star, A Serious House on Serious Earth.

There's a page in this book that looks a heck of a lot like the poster to The Crazies we looked at in the "March Madness" post, relating it to Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatter's Mad Tea Party...and, guess what, the Mad Hatter is one of the inmates at Arkham in this story:
But that's the least of it. The psychologists in the comic book (click for higher res images) try to cure Two-Face's "obsession with duality" by replacing his two-sided coin with the cards of the Tarot, thus giving him not two choices but a world of colors. Both Jung and Timothy Leary placed importance on the Tarot.
Note the hexagon over Two-Face

You gotta love it. In attempt to give him more and more choices, to get him further from duality, they say, "Next we plan to introduce him to the I-Ching." The ancient I-Ching system is made up of 64 hexagrams. Psychedelic adventurer Terence McKenna used the I-Ching as the basis of his Timewave Zero, an attempt at charting temporal novelty in the book The Invisible Landscape, which was one of the first sources to place importance on a 2012 event.
In this video, explaining some of his theories, we see some familiar phrases. McKenna relates the Atom Bomb to wide-spread LSD use as a low and high points on his chart. He also says that, when a time machine is built, it will have to use mathematics such as this. And, of course, he describes the wind-down of the Timewave as a tightening spiral. Plus, keep your eyes peeled for a lot of flashing images that we discuss here, such as the Ringling Bros. poster at around 6 minutes, 18 seconds.
I should add that the Batman comics were some of the first stories to ever use the idea of time travel as a mental ability:
1942 with scientist Carter Nichols - CN is a one letter slide from BM (which is also 42)

And Grant Morrison, author of the Arkham Asylum book, is currently writing a six-part story where Bruce Wayne (or BM flipped), also known as BatMan, is traveling through time.
The BM in place of the 2001 Monolith or Stargate (with Volcano in background)

The story includes a spaceship crash in prehistoric times:
And once the craft is discovered, a long-winded conversation begins about the ship's particular color blue.
I also see a connection between the name Arkham (Ark-Ham) and the plush Pig given to Dr. Parnassus' granddaughter, in a restaurant called Rain, at the very end of the movie.

One of my more recent thoughts about post-ego-death-consciousness was that perhaps we should be incorporating knowledge from all types of consciousness, such as Animal and Plant consciousness. The thought was that, what is classically thought of as the dueling natures of man's Animal-side and Human-side, is an unnecessary argument and, furthermore, incomplete at that. The ideal consciousness then, would be a chimera, an amalgamation of all of these intellects. That was what I was thinking about when I saw a post at the SyncWhole, that mentioned the Wheel of Fortune and the blue Sphinx sitting atop it.
With the Sphinx we have another Blue Man that has pieced himself together out of the best parts of the universal material. Oh, and let's not forget, in Watchmen, the second time Dr. Manhattan experiences ego-death, he takes a hybrid-cat with him!

In Sirens of Titan, there is another character that pulls all of this together. His name is Boaz. The name Boaz of course comes from the pillars Jachin and Boaz, from Solomon's Temple that housed the Ark of the Covenant, and is at the center of the 9/11 Stargate as laid out by Jake Kotze.

The pillars are also featured on the High Priestess Tarot card:
Are used as a symbol of Masonry:
Seen here on a Masonic apron with the beehive at the base of one and a death's head at the base of the other:
Here we have the the pillars on a first-degree Masonic tracing board, placed within a wheel-of-fortune:
The pillars entrain with our cat, the lion (cats also being used euphemistically to refer to women's genitalia):
They are even used in Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth, in the books introduction, along with an Alice in Wonderland quote!

I have come to view these two pillars as symbolic of spread legs, perhaps being used in a large-scale fertility ritual by mystery schools and/or secret societies, but I believe it is also being used by the collective unconsciousness to speak of ego-death and ensuing rebirth. I will go into detail on this in the 5th and final segment of our Birds and the Bees series.

For now, just consider if you will, the pillars as two large legs along with me. Now look at the masculine predecessor to the Statue of Liberty (the representation of Venus-Isis), the Colossus of Rhodes, standing upon two pillars to exaggerate the point. Consider that the Masons, a male fraternity, include a third, small pillar (or phallus) in their tracing boards. And here he has his legs spread to receive Venus, known as "our lady of the sea."
Note the ship sailing between his legs.
We looked at whaling ships in Part Two.

Now, Dr. Manhattan, after he experiences ego-death the second time, comes back as a looming colossus:
And he certainly goes together with Masons and ships sailing upon the sea:
"Includes Hollis Mason's tell-all: Under the Hood"

Venus, known as the light bearer, toying with our resurrected man:
"THE LIGHT IS TAKING ME TO PIECES"

And you tell me you think Jesus, on his Solar Sail, doesn't want to go to Venus?

To be concluded...
