When Osiris and Hermes mate...

UPDATE:
With 3/17 fast approaching, here's some more Osiris-resonating fun from the Onion.

A mythology lesson/reminder From Wiki:

"Set was hunting one night and came across the body of Osiris. Enraged, he tore
the body into fourteen pieces
and scattered them throughout the land. Isis
gathered up all the parts of the body, less the phallus (which was eaten by a
fish) and bandaged them together for a proper burial. The gods were impressed by
the devotion of Isis and resurrected Osiris as the god of the underworld.
Because of his death and resurrection, Osiris is associated with the flooding
and retreating of the Nile and thus with the crops along the Nile valley."

  2. Solomon's temple had two columns, Jachin and Boaz. See recent gosporn comments in Valkyrie Rising for some serious JB stuff. To me, the two towers have always represented Id and Ego, or mythically, Osiris/Dionysus and Hermes.

Manly P. Hall, 33rd Degree Mason: "Those who follow the path of faith (or the heart) use water and are known as the Sons of Seth, while those who follow the path of the mind and action are the Sons of Cain, who was the son of SAMAEL , the Spirit of Fire. Today, we find the latter among the alchemists, the Hermetic philosophers, the Rosicrucians and the Freemasons."

    Note it's 3/3/11

  3. Michael,
I read JB's post. I came away thinking back to "The death of death" from January:

But, your idea of the two pillars being Osiris and Hermes as Ego and Id....now I really want them to get it on. Those two really need to get together.

Put the path of faith/Id/water (alchemically water is a downward facing triangle) together with the path of action/Ego/fire (alchemically fire is an upward facing triangle) and you get the Seal of Solomon.

Yeah, March 2011, 3/11, should continue to be an interesting month.

  4. I was out on our driveway when a car pulls up, a guy gets out and asks me where house no. 6833 is. That’s across the street, the house where John lived (see http://gosporn.blogspot.com/2010/05/tribute.html) who went to church at 1717 Bellevue Way.

I wonder, are we going through the final degree of initiation?

  5. 33 1717 is like 317 twice over and the 68, we were just talking about that! That's Doug's 68, SyncWhole's g8, my 98, and on and on.

I was just catching up on some SecretSun posts and Knowles apparently just did a post on your friend Samael:

Yeah, I'd say we're pretty darn close to something.

  6. Yea, it's crazy. Maybe March madness is well named. 3+3+11=17.

So, I'm (slowly) reading my Holy Grail book and today we find out about a Vatican coin minted in 1317, ten years after the (fake) Templar suppression. On one side is Osiris, a crude drawing of his dismembered body, and on the other is Thoth, the Egyptian Hermes. It's a beautiful image, really, the two sides, or "pillars", of human consciousness.

Since we, as individual egos are all "Thoth", we attempt to stitch our fractured Osiris consciousness back together. When we do, we no longer see the coin as two-sided, but one. I have a killer St. Paddy's day post in the works. ;-)

  7. Michael,
Take an hour and listen to this interview:
    http://www.redicecreations.com/radio/2011/02/RIR-110215.php
As far as the one-sided two-sided alchemical coin conversation goes, this hits the mark.

PS: Can't wait for that St Paddy's day post.

  8. A killer St. Patrick's Day post in the works?!?
That's what I like to hear:)
Include me on the list of people anxiously awaiting this event.

  9. Thanks for the link to the Tracey Twyman interview. I'm now a fan of hers. I love the throat clearing thing through the whole interview - she's like the "red matter" of pharaoh or Prince. I'd love to meet her, she sounds like a total anarchist. Love it!
